Panel Member Concerns
1. How did you get my e-mail address?
Expedia.com randomly selected a sample of e-mail addresses from its list of registered users on the site. This sample was then invited to join the Traveler Council. Only registered users who are eligible to receive survey communications were included in the sample.
2. Is membership free?
YES!
3. Does anyone have access to my personal information?
No. Information about you will not be released for any purpose; it will remain confidential and proprietary solely to Expedia, per our privacy statement. In addition, your personal information will never be associated with your survey responses and all survey input is anonymous.
4. How do I update or change my personal information, including my e-mail address?
Click on the "My Account" tab above to update your information. You can change or update your personal information at anytime.
5. Who do I contact if I have any questions or comments about a survey?
If you have any questions or comments about a survey, please feel free to e-mail the Expedia Traveler Council Administrator at etcadmin@expedia.com, who will address your questions as soon as they are able.
6. How do I unsubscribe from the Expedia Traveler Council?
To unsubscribe from the panel please e-mail the Expedia Traveler Council Administrator at etcadmin@expedia.com, with "Unsubscribe ETC" in the subject line to be removed from our database.
7. Who is in the council?
Members of the council consist of registered users of Expedia.com. These users were randomly selected to participate in the council and consist of both current users and non-users of Expedia as well as current purchasers and non-purchasers.
How to Participate
1. How do I participate in research surveys?
An email will be sent to you and alert you of future surveys. Contained in this email will be a URL link that will take you directly to the Internet survey.
2. Why do you ask personal information?
Your personal information, such as name and email address, is primarily used to let you know about opportunities to take future surveys. Generally, panel members are notified about an opportunity to take a survey 1 to 2 times per month. Your personal information may also be used to provide you with new updates about Expedia that may be of interest and inform you about special programs and benefits we are offering to our Traveler Council members.
Some surveys are only appropriate to give to certain members. Information we have on our members (e.g., demographic information, computer and web access capabilities, lifestyle information and other profiling questions) helps us to determine who receives certain surveys.
3. Do I have to participate every time I am invited to take a survey?
We would love for you to participate in as many surveys as possible. Your ongoing input is extremely valuable. However, you may decline to participate in any survey.
4. How long do surveys take to complete?
On average, a survey will take approximately 15 minutes or less to complete.
Technical Challenges
1. What computer technology do I need to participate in surveys?
Any computer with Internet access should have ample power to allow you to participate in our surveys. Unfortunately we do not support the WebTV platform.
2. How do I address any technical problems I encounter while taking a survey?
If you encounter any technical problems while taking a survey please contact etcadmin@expedia.com.
3. I tried using the URL you sent me to get into the survey, but it didn't work. Help!
If after restarting your email program and this problem persists, please REPLY to the Invitation email and list the problems encountered. Our IT team will contact you shortly with a solution.
4. Which browser works best?
The survey is carried out in a separate window, this means that any browser you have should be okay to use.
5. Once I am done taking a survey, how do I get back into the Internet?
Please close the survey window and your desktop should reappear. Just open your Internet application as you would normally.
Incentives
1. Do you offer incentives to participate in surveys?
Some surveys will offer incentives to participate, but not all. If an incentive is being offered to participate, this will be noted in the invitation to the survey sent to you.
